This Roof at Ponce City Market wedding day was an absolute blast, filled with laughter, fun, and a touch of modern elegance. I had the pleasure of capturing Mary and Jonathan’s special moments of their wedding at Ponce City Market. It was so unique and vibrant, which perfectly complemented their vision for their wedding day.
Right from the start, it was evident that Mary and Jonathan were easygoing and radiated joy. As the photographer, my goal was to capture the authenticity of their day, allowing Mary and Jonathan to immerse themselves fully in the celebration. And in doing so, the remarkable photographs we created became a natural byproduct of their genuine happiness and shared moments.
The couple’s intentionality and desire for an intimate celebration were beautifully reflected in their wedding day. Ponce City Market, with its vibrant and lively atmosphere, provided the ideal backdrop for their joyous union. Mary’s distaste for traditional “princess wedding vibes” was replaced with a focus on creating a memorable experience for their guests, many of whom had traveled from out of town.
They wanted to prioritize spending quality time with their close friends and family. They both got ready surrounded by their loved ones, Mary at an Airbnb near the venue and Jonathan at a nearby hotel.
The forecast predicted rain all day long, but in the last minute switched to cloudy after we left Mary’s airbnb. I was so grateful because we could enjoy the top of the Roof at Ponce City for their wedding photos. The couple had their hearts set on playing games and enjoying the breathtaking Atlanta skyline views from the rooftop.
Mary and Jonathan’s dynamic perfectly balances each other. Mary, an accountant, brings her methodical and task-oriented nature, while Jonathan, a performer, brings a free-spirited and fun-loving energy. They share a deep love for one another and have a playful bond filled with inside jokes.
The wedding decor had a modern vibe, with gold velvet adorning the tables and pops of warm colors like yellows and oranges in the floral arrangements. Dark greenery, potted plants, and citrus accents added a touch of freshness and natural beauty to the overall design. Also, Mary and Jonathan wanted their guests to take home the florals easily, offering a fun and eco-friendly takeaway.
A wedding doesn’t have to conform to a traditional mold to be meaningful and unforgettable. Mary and Jonathan’s wedding was a testament to that. Their choice of venue, the playfulness infused throughout the day, and their love for one another created a truly unique and joy-filled celebration that will be remembered by all who attended.
In the end, Mary and Jonathan’s wedding on the Roof at Ponce City Market was a reflection of their personalities and a reminder that weddings should be a true representation of who you are as a couple. You only get married once, have fun with it!
